Privacy policy
M8 is a personal assistant, called Mate, that you talk to by text message. It is a small private beta. This page says plainly what we collect and what we do with it.
01 What we collect
Your phone number and the first name you give us. The messages you send Mate and the replies it sends back. Short facts Mate saves so it can remember you, such as a preference or a goal. Voice notes Mate generates for you. Basic delivery records from our messaging provider.
02 How we use it
Only to run the service: to reply to you, to remember context between conversations, and to fix problems. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use your messages to train AI models.
03 Text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. You can reply STOP at any time to stop all messages, or HELP for help.
04 Who processes it
We rely on a small number of service providers, and each receives only what it needs to do its job: a message delivery service, a secure database, website hosting, and third-party AI services that receive message content in order to write replies and generate voice notes.
05 Keeping and deleting
We keep your data while you use M8. Email us and we will delete your account, messages, memory, and voice notes. Replying STOP ends messages but does not delete your data, so ask us if you want it gone.
06 Children
M8 is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18.
